I’m Charmaine Msalela, an HR Trainee with exact!
I completed my BSocSci with Psychology
and Organisational Psychology majors at UCT in 2007.
I wanted to go into the Human
Resources field after completing my studies, because I love people. During my final
year, I realised that I had to start preparing myself for the corporate world. I
wasn’t ready.
|
When I heard about The Foschini Group and the Graduate Programme with HR Trainee
roles,
I realised that perhaps this is what I was looking for. There were very few
companies that had this much focus on HR as a career path. What really drew me to
The Foschini Group was the working culture.
I wanted a company where I could be
myself and where I could meet new people everyday, making friends along the way.
|
In January of 2008 I started with The Foschini Group as an HR Trainee. I was placed
in exact! with an HR team that would expose me to the wonderful world of HR and
a coach that would help me with the projects of the programme. Having my own coach
was great, because it meant I would have someone who is passionate about my development
and also someone I could ask as many questions as
I liked. And did I ever!
|
Having almost completed my Programme, it is amazing to see how much I’ve learnt!
The exposure
I have gained in HR is unbelievable. The retail industry is a great
place to learn, because there is always something happening.
|
If you’re looking for diversity, a friendly culture,
a fast-paced learning environment
in a growing organisation that enables its people to grow with it, look no further.
The Foschini Group’s what you’re looking for.
