My name is Darryll Beukes. I studied at the University of Cape Town, where I completed
my B.Com Honours Degree in Information Systems. Initially, the thought of going
into the field of logistics was a bit of a radical change for me, as I am from an
IT background. My transition was made easy, because the people with whom I work
are extremely helpful and very supportive.

I really enjoy my job, because there’s a really good support structure which helps
you grow in your chosen career path.

The Logistics Controller works within our Distribution Centres focusing on Warehouse,
Supply Chain and Transport management. In short, they make sure our stuff gets where
it needs to be.

- The ability to work in a team
- Solid problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy skills
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience
would be advantageous
- A degree/diploma in logistics, warehouse, supply chain
or transport management, or
- A retail business management course (modules should include logistics, warehouse,
supply chain or transport management)
