My name is Jean Joubert. I attended the University of Stellenbosch, where I completed
my Masters Degree in Mathematical Statistics. I am currently employed as a Risk
Analyst at The Foschini Group.
|
People understandably only link The Foschini Group to fashion and forget that it
is a business with many divisions, like the risk division. Part of my job is to
extract and analyse data to support decisions made on the credit risk of the company.
It is quite exciting to see how I can apply my theoretical knowledge in the practical
world.
|
Seeing as this is my first job, it was very
re-assuring to find that there is a
well-defined support structure in place. My colleagues are very approachable and
quick to offer help when
I get stuck.
|
|
Overall there is a very friendly environment throughout the company.
|
|
|
The Risk Analyst extracts data from our Data Warehouse to forecast, analyse and optimise
the credit offering to our customers. If that sounds complicated, it’s because it
is.
